The Cloughaneely Mental Health Association is hosting a fundraising event on Pancake Tuesday.They are inviting you with your friends, family or colleagues to The Gweedore Bar on Pancake Tuesday, 13th February from 11am-12noon. Be creative with decorating your pancakes- It’s all for a good cause and it will put a smile on your face!

The Bothán na bhFear Cloich Cheannfhaola – Cloughaneely Men’s Shed received a donation from Pobail le Chéile on Monday 15th January of €150 raised through the Siopa Pobail Christmas Hamper Draw.

The four men, Hugo, John, Mick and Tom thanked the Siopa Volunteers and Pobail le Chéile for organising the draw and a special thanks to the customers at Siopa Pobail for their generosity. The men say they will put the money into fitting out the new Shed premises which they hope to secure in the near future.

These are the instructions that computers use to do things for us. Coders are the people who write these instructions and Coder Dojo seeks to teach the basics to young people to help them make their own games, apps and websites.

Dojo sessions are free and open to anyone 12yrs and upwards!

Pobail Le Chéile Groups

The Men’s Shed Group – Bothán na bhFear meet at the YARD every Monday morning from 11am-1pm.

Cumann Cairdeas Over 50s Group meet at the YARD every Tuesday morning from 11am-1pm.

The Coderdojo Club  meets every Wednesday evening at the YARD from 6pm-8pm.

PPC Coderdojo club – this group is led by the YARD Youth Project, and provides coding workshops every Thursday lunch-time in PPC Library during term-time.

The  Parent & Toddler Group – Páistí le Chéile meets at Garradh Cholmcille Centre every Thursday morning from 10.30am-12noon. €2 per child/€3 per family.

PPC Student Lunchtime Drop-in in the cafe area of the YARD on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm-2pm.

Youth Strength & Conditioning Workshops in the YARD for 10-16yrs, Thursdays 5-6pm – With Louise Friel.

Youth Drop-in at the YARD on a Friday from 3.30pm-6pm. New members welcome to the all the above groups. 074 9180111.

Chair Aerobics & Circuit Training

Chair Aerobics  at the YARD on Tuesday mornings at the new earlier time of 10am and Thursday evenings at 7pm.  Circuits at the YARD will also resume that week on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm. Beginners welcome and suitable for all ages.

It’s that time of year again where we ask you for your suggestions for courses and depending on the level of interest we will do our best to schedule such courses for you.

Pobail le Chéile are part-funded by Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) to provide a range of Community Adult Education Classes and Courses. These cover a wide range of subject areas including:
Introduction to Baking with Sally; Introduction to Life drawing; Gentle Exercise and Chair Aerobics in Tuesday mornings at 10am and Thursday evenings at 7pm. Jiving for Fitness with Ashlene; Safe Use of Tools; Gardening Skills; Composting; Art Class – Painting; Digital Skills for beginners and much more…
We are open to suggestions &ideas from people and groups in the community for new classes.

Pobail le Chéile is also a Community Partner of An Cosán Virtual Community College, and we operate a Learning Hub at the YARD building where people can take part in a range of community social education programmes. The Next An Cosán VCC course will commence on January  30th 2018 – An Introduction to Community Development (Women only).
