Maria’s Bealtaine Art Project continues on Tuesdays from 11.30am-1pm. The theme this year was All Together Now! Collectivism, civic engagement and protest! . Maria’s encouraged us to explore the concept of ‘people power’, civic engagement (and yes protest!), as well as the empathy that accompanies these human activities. There are some wonderful thought-provoking images emerging such as a painting depicting John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Famous Honeymoon Bed-in for peace as well as other paintings based on human rights activists. The next day trip will be to Oakfield Park on Tuesday 6th June. The group will then take their annual summer break.
