Donegal Parent and Family Support Service(DPFSS) is a charity committed to working with children and families across the county on a number of key priorities:

• Improving lives through family led, home based supports
• Delivering strengths based programme interventions to
• children and families in need
• Providing information, support and signposting to parents
• and children on a 1:1 or group basis.
• Facilitating a child led and quality based childcare service

There are three key strands to our service:

Finn Valley Family Resource Centre

A community space to provide families and individuals with a range of activities and supports to nurture family and community life in the Ballybofey/Stranorlar area.

Springboard Family Support Service

A home based support service offering family led early intervention and prevention programmes across East Donegal, Letterkenny and South Inishowen. The service also offers an Afterschool and Parent and Toddler service within the Raphoe area.

Pathways Parent Support Service

A county-wide brief intervention service offering advice, support and signposting for parents. This service has a special focus on co parenting when separated.

DPFSS strives to operate with the following principles:

Community Driven – The service is guided by the principles of community development. By providing, timely, relevant and potentially life changing support for families, we can help build a fairer, safer, more just and equitable community for all.

Committed, Competent and Passionate – Collaboration, respect and kindness underpin our practice, these are the elements that shape and drive our service delivery model. It is not enough to be understanding, we also apply professionalism, evidence-based insights and learned expertise to the issues facing children and families in Co. Donegal.

A Listening Ear – The Service advocates for families. Working in partnership with agencies, statutory bodies and other social care professionals, DPFSS aims to empower families to use the potential they have to change what can sometimes be difficult circumstances and improve family life and wellbeing.

The service is funded by Túsla Child and family Agency and the Health service Executive.
