Pobail le Chéile supports youth work. This is defined as non-formal educational work with young people. The World Health Organisation defines ‘Youth’ as between 12 and 25 years of age.
Since the arrival of the COVID pandemic we have had to move all youth work online with varying degrees of success, since school work did the same and people can only take so much screen time.
Our Coderdojo session came to an end on Thursday 3rd June and we hope to return to in-school and evening face-to-face sessions in September. We are currently exploring a number of exciting outdoor options for summer activity days. These will be posted on Facebook (Pobail le Chéile’s facebook) and in the summer edition of the Glór newsletter. The next edition is due out in early June 2021.
The sort of activities we are planning include – graffiti workshops, Sand Sculpture Competition on the Beach; Drumming and Rhythm workshops and Ultimate Disc intro sessions and games at Ionad Naomh Fionnán.
